Reflection on Music

Reflection of Music

For more than half of my life, music has been a big deal to me.  When I was in middle school I started to really get into alternative rock music.  I was introduced to such bands as 311, Incubus, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and so forth.  It wasn’t until later on that I got introduced to Switchfoot who immediately became and is still to this day my favorite band.  They made me look at music in a way that was inspiring and sentimental.  I was inspired to play and write music like them.  I learned how to play the guitar, I already knew how to sing (I’ll explain that later), and I started writing lyrics.  I’ve performed with a couple of rock bands and have enjoyed entertaining people and sharing my music passion with them.
I was a dancer in middle school and desired to be a dancing waiter in the musical “Hello Dolly!” when I was a sophomore in high school.  I passed based on my dancing, though it wasn’t until I started singing that people told me I had a beautiful voice.  I had no idea I had that kind of talent.  Ever since then, I took singing seriously. I practiced every day, learned how to read music, and eventually tried out for the high school Madrigals as a tenor and made it.  Now I use that talent to write music and inspire others.

Music is one of the biggest portions of my life.  I love it because it speaks to my heart and soul.  It can be very uplifting, inspiring, and even motivating, all while pleasing your ear with great music.  I’m still way into alternative rock music and don’t plan on quitting writing and performing music anytime soon.
